Contoh aplikasi yang akan dibuatkan model adalah penentuan arahan pemanfaatan lahan di DAS (Daerah Aliran Sungai) Janga Kabupaten Karangasem Bali. Data-data yang diperlukan dalam proses ini diperoleh dari hasil penelitian mahasiswa bimbingan penulis Anwar Tamziz yang telah dimodifikasi sedemikian rupa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan mengacu pada Pedoman Penyusunan Pola RLKT (1986) dengan modifikasi. Perlu diketahui bahwa yang ditekankan dalam contoh aplikasi ini bukanlah kebenaran metodologi atau data yang digunakan, melainkan proses atau prosedur analisis spasialnya. Harapan penulis apabila prosedur analisisnya telah dipahami, anda dapat mengaplikasikan pada kasus sebenarnya yang jauh lebih kompleks dari contoh ini.
